CURRENT ICE STORM PROGS

The thresholds for ice storm potential are abit different, and can be tricky to determine. For ice storm events, only depth of ice expected is used a primary criteria, not probabilities as for snow. Freezing rain events will be shown by light pink contoured areas, while ice storm events will be shown by dark pink hatched areas. Here is the official criteria:

Ice accumulation of <= 1/10th inch...Freezing rain likely. Hazardous driving conditions expected.
Ice accumulation of between 1.10th and 1.50 inches...Ice storm likely. Dangerous travel conditions expected.
